Start the day at the American Legion with a delicious hot breakfast that is free to all Veterans and a small charge for the general public. Indoor seating is limited but we are offering To-Go boxes. 114 McCall Road (American Legion Pearce-Keller Post #17, next to Walmart in Manhattan).
9:30am – 10:30am:
Our Veterans Day Parade begins at Manhattan Town Center Mall and follows Poyntz Avenue to City Hall (across from City Park). Our Guest Speaker is Dr. Bob Smith, Curator of the Fort Riley Museum. Dr. Smith has an extensive knowledge of military history and will speak about Kansas native and Army hero Father Emilie Kapaun.
8am – 2pm:
The Armed Forces Community Foundation is hosting Stand-To Match Day , offering a 50% match on all donations received on November 11th at Colony Square, 555 Poyntz Avenue. Please support Flint Hills Veterans Coalition! https://www.standtomatchday.com/index.cfm .
- Historic displays of memorabilia and Korean War posters are displayed through November 11th at the Manhattan Town Center Mall as well as in storefronts along Poyntz Avenue in Downtown Manhattan.
